NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Furman men's tennis team opened the 2018 fall season this weekend at the Vanderbilt Scramble in Nashville, Tenn.  The Paladins competed against host Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, Tennessee Tech, and Louisville during the three days of competition.  

In singles action, senior Jake Munns came from behind to beat Louisville's Fabien Salle, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, in round one, and Jake Bhangdia beat George Wong of Lipscomb, 6-1, 6-4, in Sunday's final round.  

Bhangdia teamed with Drew Singerman for a 6-4 victory over Francesco Tacconi and Pedro Uribe of Lipscomb in the opening round of doubles, while Munns and freshman James Roelofse blanked Marcus Ferreira and Jack Lee of Vanderbilt, 6-0, in round two.  

Furman will compete at the Elon Invitational in Elon, N.C., September 21-23.
