Greenville, S.C. – Furman basketball returns to the road Tuesday evening when it visits Charleston, S.C., to take on the Charleston Southern Buccaneers. Tip-off at Buccaneer Fieldhouse is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Paladins are off to a 2-0 start after scoring a 70-63 victory at defending Big South Tournament champion Gardner-Webb last Tuesday and a decisive 87-63 triumph in their home opener versus Loyola Chicago this past Friday night at Timmons Arena.
Jordan Lyons scored 24 points and
Clay Mounce added 22 to key the Paladins' victory over the Ramblers, which marked Furman's 18
th win in its last 20 regular season non-conference contests.
Tuesday night's tilt in Charleston will be the 17
th meeting between the Paladins and Buccaneers with Furman holding a 9-7 series lead. Last season, the Paladins claimed a 77-68 victory over the Bucs in Timmons Arena behind 19 points from forward
Noah Gurley and 16 apiece from
Alex Hunter and
Andrew Brown. This year's meeting will be Furman's sixth versus the Bucs in Charleston. The Paladins lone road victory against Charleston Southern, a 103-98 verdict, came during the 1993-94 season.
Charleston Southern enters Tuesday's game at 1-1 on the season. The Bucs topped Columbia International in their home opener before falling at North Carolina A&T.
Furman will be back in action at Timmons Arena on Friday, November 15, when it entertains Southern Wesleyan at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the Timmons Arena Box Office and online at
