Paladins Visit No. 13 Auburn Thursday Night On SEC Network

Tip-Off Set For 9 p.m. ET At Auburn Arena

Greenville, S.C. – Furman caps a four-game road swing when it visits the 13th-ranked Auburn Tigers for a 9 p.m. ET clash on Thursday at Auburn Arena.

Thursday's game will be televised live on the SEC Network with Tom Hart and Andy Kennedy calling the action.

Furman (7-2) is looking to rebound from a 65-55 loss at South Florida on Monday night that snapped the Paladins' three-game winning streak. The Paladins shot just 35.7% from the floor and connected on just 7-of-28 three-point attempts in Monday's loss. Sophomore Noah Gurley led the way with 19 points, while Southern Conference Player of the Week Clay Mounce added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

Entering Thursday, Furman ranks sixth in the latest CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 and No. 74 in the latest Pomeroy Ratings (KenPom.com). Senior Jordan Lyons leads Furman averaging 14.8 points per game and shooting a SoCon-best 93.8% at the foul line. Mounce, who has posted 16.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game over the last three outings, is averaging 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Gurley, a 57.9% shooter from the floor and 50% from behind the arc, has contributed 13.4 points per game.

The Paladins and Tigers have met five times on the hardwood with Auburn holding a 4-1 series advantage. Furman claimed a 44-22 decision in the first series meeting in 1923 with the Tigers winning the last four encounters. In the last meeting, Auburn downed Furman, 64-50, on December 15, 2012, at Auburn Arena.

The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest coaches poll and 14th in the Associated Press Top 25, are off to a 7-0 start. Auburn has been idle since a 79-65 win over Richmond in the Legends Classic on November 26, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Paladins return home to host USC Upstate at Timmons Arena on Sunday, December 8, at 2 p.m. Tickets for all of Furman's 12 remaining home games are on sale now at the Timmons Arena Box Office and online at FurmanPaladins.com. Four-game packs for Furman's "Weekends at the Well" series at Bon Secours Wellness Arena are also on sale. Current Furman students will have access to free tickets on Furman basketball game days.
