Furman Hosts Bob Jones Monday in Non-Conference Finale

Tip Off is Scheduled for 7 p.m.

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's basketball team closes out non-conference play on Monday evening when it hosts the Bob Jones Bruins at 7 p.m. inside Timmons Arena.

Furman (13-7) outscored Western Carolina 25-11 in the first quarter on Saturday afternoon as the Paladins secured a 69-53 victory over the Catamounts at Timmons Arena. Le'Jzae Davidson and Taylor Petty led Furman offensively with 13 points apiece. Tierra Hodges recorded her team-leading 10th double-double of the season after finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Making her first career start, Grace van Rij contributed seven points and a career-high five rebounds. Milica Manojlovic dished out three assists.

The Paladins concluded the game shooting 43.1 percent from the field and held Western Carolina to 2-of-17 behind the 3-point line. Furman held a 41-26 advantage in rebounds. The Paladins also led in points off turnovers (15-13) and second chance points (15-6).

Furman has three players averaging in double figures this season led by Davidson with 15.0 points per game. Hodges is averaging a double-double of 11.7 points and a team-leading 10.2 rebounds per contest. Petty contributes 10.5 points per game. Manojlovic dishes out a team-best 4.8 assists per game.

Bob Jones currently sits at 9-9 on the season after defeating Johnson University (Tenn.) 68-53 on Friday evening. Kylee Leffew leads the Bruins offensively with 13.2 points per game while Madison Shupe contributes 11.7 points. Defensively, Delaney Edwards is averaging a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game. Bob Jones is under the direction of eighth-year head coach Mike LeViere.

Furman is facing the Bruins for the third time in program history on Monday and leads the all-time series 2-0.

The Paladins travel to Spartanburg on Saturday, February 1 to face Wofford at 2 p.m.
