Furman Ends Road Trip Sunday at No. 13 Duke

Game Time Set for 1 p.m.

Sunday afternoon traveling to Durham, N.C. to face the 13th-ranked Duke Blue Devils at 1 p.m. from Koskinen Stadium.

The Paladins (1-3) played the second game of their road trip last Saturday, falling 17-9 at Utah. Furman finished the game with 34 shots and 28 ground balls while holding a 22-10 advantage in saves. The Paladins also forced the Utes into 13 turnovers.

Anders Erickson, Brett Tenaglia and Chad Kreuzer each led Furman offensively with three points on two goals and one assist. Austin Leonard, Luke Majick and Jack Dowd all recorded one goal. Carson Sorrells, Brandon Bank and Tucker Brown each dished out one assist. Kris Casey picked up four ground balls and Will O'Grady caused three turnovers.

Alec Van de Bovenkamp set a new school record with 22 saves in the contest, surpassing his old mark of 21 set last season against Mercer.

Tenaglia has compiled a team-leading 10 points this season on seven goals and three assists. Erickson leads the team with six assists and adds nine points on three goals. In goal, Van de Bovenkamp has 57 saves and a .533 save percentage.

Duke enters the week ranked No. 13 nationally in both the Maverik Media Poll and USILA Coaches Poll. The Blue Devils are coming off a 14-11 loss to Penn last Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. Owen Caputo leads Duke offensively with 15 points on eight goals and a team-high seven assists. Joey Manown, Dyson Williams and Cameron Badour have each compiled 12 points. Manown and Williams both lead the team with nine goals. Turner Uppgren has made 28 saves in goal. The Blue Devils are under the direction of 13th-year head coach John Danowski.

The Paladins are facing Duke for the third time in program history with the Blue Devils leading the all-time series 2-0. Duke defeated Furman 17-9 in the previous meeting last year in Greenville.

The Paladins are back at home next Friday, March 6 to host fourth-ranked North Carolina at 6 p.m.
