- Furman, ranked No. 4 in the latest College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 and a SoCon-best No. 46 in the latest NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) Rankings, hosts the ETSU Buccaneers in a battle of SoCon unbeatens Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena
- Saturday's game marks the first of three appearances on ESPNU for the Paladins this season. Furman's home date versus UNCG on Jan. 25 and its trip to Greensboro Coliseum to battle the Spartans on Feb. 10 will both be televised live on ESPNU.
- Playing its first game since Jan. 2, Furman rode a career-high 29 points from Clay Mounce to claim a 94-88 victory at The Citadel on Wednesday afternoon as the Paladins knocked the Bulldogs from the ranks of the unbeaten. Noah Gurley scored 18 points, Mike Bothwell poured in 17 and Alex Hunter added 10 to round out Furman's double figure scorers.Â
- Statistically speaking, Furman's work in the paint and its ability to capitalize off of Citadel mistakes proved to be the difference on Wednesday. The Paladins managed a 58-32 scoring advantage in points in the paint and netted 30 points off of 20 Bulldog turnovers.
- Junior Mike Bothwell enters Saturday's showdown leading Furman in scoring (17.7 ppg), rebounding (5.7 rpg), assists (4.0 apg) and steals per game (2.1 spg). He finished with 17 points, eight boards, five assists and four steals in the 94-88 victory over The Citadel.
- Clay Mounce (16.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg) grabbed two rebounds in a Dec. 15 loss at Alabama to reach 500 for his career and become just the 10th player in school history with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 150 assists in a career. Mounce currently ranks 38th in school history with 1,118 career points and needs just five to pass former San Antonio Spurs draft choice Al Daniel (4th RD, 1979) for 37th on the all-time list.
- Head coach Bob Richey (82-28), now in his fourth year, ranks in the top 10 among active NCAA Division I coaches with a .745 winning percentage.
- The Paladins boast one of the most experienced starting lineups in the country with two seniors and three juniors. The lineup of senior Alex Hunter, junior Mike Bothwell, fifth-year senior Clay Mounce, redshirt-junior Noah Gurley and junior Jalen Slawson have combined to appear in 436 games and record 279 starts in the purple and white.

Furman vs. ETSU Series
- Saturday's game marks the 62nd all-time meeting between Furman and ETSU on the hardwood with the defending SoCon champion Bucs holding a 32-29 series lead.
- Last season, Jordan Lyons scored 14 points and Noah Gurley added 10 points and 12 boards to lead Furman to a 65-56 victory over the Bucs at Timmons Arena on Jan. 4, 2020. The Paladin victory marked their fifth win over the Bucs in the last six meetings at Timmons Arena.
- ETSU earned a season split against the Paladins with a 75-66 decision in Johnson City, Tenn., on Feb. 19, 2020.
- Head coach Bob Richey is 3-4 all-time versus ETSU.

Paladins Add Four Televised Games During SoCon Schedule
Furman will make three appearances on ESPNU and will face off versus Wofford at 4 p.m. on Feb. 6 in the Ingles SoCon Game of the Week on Nexstar affiliates throughout the southeast, it was announced in December. The Paladins will host ETSU on ESPNU on Jan. 16 at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in downtown Greenville before entertaining co-SoCon favorite UNCG on ESPNU Jan. 25 at Timmons Arena. The Paladins and Spartans will battle on ESPNU at the Greensboro Coliseum on Feb. 10 in Furman's third appearance of the year on the ESPN family of networks.

Furman Now Scheduled To Host Three "Weekends at the Well" In 2021
Furman basketball returns to downtown Greenville for the first of three "Weekends at the Well" when it hosts the Chattanooga Mocs on January 30. Furman and Wofford will stage a rematch of last season's thrilling showdown at the Well on February 6 at 6 p.m., before the Paladins entertain Western Carolina at the Well on February 13.Â
