Furman Set For Thursday Regular Season Finale Versus Wofford

2020-21 Furman Paladin Seniors
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's women's basketball team is set to play host to Wofford on Thursday in the 2020-21 regular season finale for both teams.  Tipoff for the ESPN+ streamed event presented by Ingles, is set for 7:00 p.m. at Timmons Arena.

The Paladins (9-13, 5-8 SoCon), coming off a two-game weekend sweep of Western Carolina last weekend, have gone 5-1 at home in league play this year and enter Thursday's clash against the Terriers (11-9, 7-6 SoCon) tied for fifth place in the SoCon standings with UNC Greensboro.  Wofford, which stands alone in fourth place, comes to Greenville having dropped three straight.

The Terriers knocked off Furman, 61-54, in Spartanburg on Jan. 9 behind a pair of 14-point performances from Lilly Hatton and Niyah Lutz, who also contributed 12 rebounds. Tierra Hodges paced Furman with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Hodges will be honored in pregame ceremonies for recently becoming the 26th player in program history to join the 1,000-point club.  The 5-9 senior forward from Covington, Ga., currently stands 21st on Furman's all-time scoring ledger with 1,086 points and is fifth in career rebounds at 865.  She ranks second in the SoCon in scoring (16.8 ppg) and is second in the league in rebounding (10.0 rpg)

Furman holds a commanding 46-11 lead in the series with Wofford, including a 27-0 mark in Greenville.

The 2021 Ingles Southern Conference Tournament presented by General Shale is scheduled for March 4-7 at Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville in Asheville, N.C.
