GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will travel to Alabama on Saturday then return home to entertain Wake Forest on Sunday.
Saturday's match in Tuscaloosa is set for noon at the Robert Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. No spectators will be allowed, but live scoring and video streaming will be available at http://www.furmanpaladins.com.
Furman (1-4) defeated VCU, 7-0, in Richmond last Saturday before falling to tenth-ranked Duke, 5-2, in Durham on Sunday. Senior Katarina Kozarov is ranked 15th nationally in singles, and the Furman doubles team of Kozarov and junior Julia Adams is ranked 27th nationally.
Alabama (5-0) beat North Alabama, 7-0, on Tuesday and will square off against Memphis on Friday before the Paladins visit on Saturday.Â
The teams last met in 2008, when the Crimson Tide defeated the Paladins, 6-1, to take a 2-1 series lead.
On Sunday, the Paladins will square off against No. 16 Wake Forest at noon at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C. No spectators will be allowed, but live stats will be available at http://www.furmanpaladins.com.Â
Wake Forest enters Sunday's match at 2-2 after falling to Northwestern, 4-0, on January 25 at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Raleigh, and Tennessee, 5-2, last weekend. The Demon Deacons lead the overall series, 25-2, after defeating the Paladins, 7-0, in Winston-Salem in 2018.
