JACKSONVILLE FLA. -- North Florida downed Furman, 6-1, Saturday at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla.

The Ospreys picked up wins at flight one and flight three doubles to take the first point.  Dominik Barton and Matt Carroll topped senior Jake Bhangdia and junior Henrik Atlevi, 6-3, at number one, and Federico Nani and Jorge Nunez beat freshman Emil Westling and senior Drew Singerman, 6-3.  The flight two match was unfinished, with Rodrigo Crespo and Nilo Duarte leading Paladin senior Ivan Mitric and junior Jame Roelofse, 5-4.

North Florida (3-7) took five singles points for the win.  Barton outlasted Mitric, 6-1, 5-7, 7-6(2), in the top-seeded contest, and Carroll held off Atlevi, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, at flight three.  At number four, Crespo recorded a 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 advantage over Westling, and Patrick Kotan entered the lineup at number five to defeat Singerman, 6-1, 6-3.  Joe Ellis downed Roelofse, 6-1, 6-3, at flight six.

The Paladins scored at flight two, where Bhangdia outlasted Duarte, 7-6, 7-6(1).

Furman (4-7, 1-0 SoCon) will continue the SoCon season at The Citadel Saturday.
