GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Samford swept Furman, 7-0, Saturday at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.

The Bulldogs won two out of three doubles matches to take the opening point.  Tomas Santantonio and Eladio Fabregas defeated senior Ivan Mitric and freshman Ben Cahill , 6-3, at flight two, then Rossouw Norval and Mohammed Ali Bellalouna outlasted freshman Emil Westling and senior Drew Singerman, 7-6, at flight three for the point.  In the remaining match at flight one, Furman seniors Henrik Atlevi and Jake Bhangdia held off Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrix, 7-6.

Samford (11-7, 5-0 SoCon) picked up six singles wins to remain unbeaten in league play.  Norval handed Mitric his first league loss of the year at flight one, 6-3, 7-6(11), and Chaw outlasted Bhangdia, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0(3), at number two.  At flight three, Fabregas defeated Atlevi, 6-2, 6-4, and Hendrix topped Westling, 6-1, 6-4, at number four.  Santantonio beat Singerman in two close sets, 7-5, 7-5, at flight five, and Bellalouna downed junior James Roelofse in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

Furman (7-11, 4-2 SoCon) will conclude the Southern Conference regular season at Wofford on April 15 at 3 p.m.
