Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team heads to Birmingham, Ala. Wednesday for a matchup against the Samford Bulldogs from the Pete Hanna Center. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m.

Furman enters Wednesday's matchup at 19-10 overall and ranked second in the SoCon standings at 11-5 following a 70-69 win versus Wofford last Saturday in the final installment of "Weekends at the Well." The Bulldogs, 19-9 overall and 9-7 in the SoCon, are third in the SoCon following a 76-74 victory over The Citadel on Monday.
The Paladins hold a 22-9 lead in the all-time series versus Samford after a decisive 81-49 victory in December. Last season, the first meeting was postponed and never rescheduled. The Paladins won the second scheduled matchup, 78-64, at Timmons Arena.
Furman is led on offense by Mike Bothwell averaging 15.2 points per game and Jalen Slawson with 15.1. Alex Hunter contributes 13.3 points per game and Conley Garrison 9.9. Additionally, Slawson collects 7.7 rebounds per game while Garrison grabs 4.4 and Bothwell 4.1.
Following Wednesday's contest, Furman travels to face The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. on Saturday at 1 p.m in the Ingles SoCon Game of the Week. This will be the final regular season game for the Paladins before going to Asheville, N.C. to compete in the SoCon Men's Basketball Championship.
