GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman's Carly Wilkes has been honored as the Southern Conference women's cross country runners of the week, respectively, after all competition Sept. 29-Oct. 3.
Wilkes led Furman to a team win at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational with an individual sixth place finish in a field that included four teams ranked among the nation's top 30. The Salem, Va., native posted a 89-second personal best in the 6K with a time of 20:00.7, outracing multiple all-American runners. The Paladins finished with 58 points beating the runner up, 25th -ranked Ole Miss, by eight points.
Furman competes at the Queens College Royals Challenge on October 6, in Charlotte, N.C.
