Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team looks to return to the win column on Saturday when the Paladins host Bob Jones for a 2 p.m. tip-off inside Timmons Arena.

After playing six of its first nine games on the road, including the last two versus Sweet Sixteen teams from last season, Furman begins a run of three of four games at home when it hosts the Bruins. The Paladins hold a 2-0 record in the all-time series versus Bob Jones, claiming a 101-48 victory in the 2017-18 season opener and 102-48 decision in the 2018-19 opener at Timmons Arena.
Furman slipped to 4-5 with a 97-83 loss at Arkansas on Monday night. Khalif Battle scored a game-high 25 points and Chandler Lawson added 19 to help the Razorbacks hold off a late charge that saw the Paladins trim a 20-point deficit down to seven in the final two minutes. JP Pegues went 10-for-10 at the foul line to lead Furman with 21 points while
Alex Williams hit five triples to net a career-high 20 points.
Marcus Foster, Furman's leading scorer at 19.8 points per game, missed Monday's game with a knee injury that is likely to sideline the senior for more than a month. Pegues has averaged 16.3 points per game and Williams has contributed 14.3 points per contest and shot 44.4% behind the arc over the last five games since returning from injury.
Bob Jones is 2-3 entering its Friday night home contest versus Regent University. The Bruins are looking to snap a three-game skid that includes a 90-49 setback at Winthrop. Senior guard Elijah Cupples leads Bob Jones averaging 17.4 points per game.
Following Saturday's game, Furman visits American Athletic Conference member Tulane on Thursday, December 14, in New Orleans, La., before closing the calendar year and non-conference schedule with home tilts versus Presbyterian (Dec. 19) and Anderson (Dec. 30).
