GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will honor senior Madison Dillon prior to Wednesday's match versus Mercer at the Mickel Tennis Center in Greenville, S.C.  First serve is set for 3 p.m. with the senior day ceremony slated for 2:50 p.m.

During Dillon's five seasons at Furman, the Paladins have amassed a perfect 27-0 Southern Conference regular season record and have claimed three league regular season titles plus three SoCon tournament championships.  Overall, Furman is 90-29 with three NCAA tournament appearances during her career.

An All-SoCon first team selection for doubles and a second-team selection for singles, Dillon has been nationally ranked in singles and competed on the 2022 Paladin team that ranked as high as 19th nationally, a program record.  A member of the ITA All-Academic team and the 2023 recipient of the C. Dan Joyner Outstanding Athletic Leader Award, she holds Furman single season records with 26 doubles wins and a .963 doubles winning percentage in 2019.

The Paladins enter Wednesday's match with a 9-11 overall record and sit at 5-0 in Southern Conference play after beating Chattanooga, 6-1, and Samford, 5-2, last week.  Furman's number one doubles team of Jess Dawson and Sara Snyder ranks 80th nationally.

Mercer is 11-8 overall and 3-2 in league play.  The Bears defeated Wofford, 5-2, and Alabama State, 4-0, last week and dropped a 6-1 decision at ETSU.

Wednesday's match marks the ninth meeting between Furman and Mercer, with the Paladins holding an 8-0 series advantage.  Furman blanked Mercer, 7-0, in Macon during the regular season last year then defeated the Bears, 4-0, in the opening round of the SoCon Championship in Chattanooga.
