Furman Makes the Trip to Wofford on Wednesday

Paladins Lead All-Time Series over Wofford, 5-0

Greenville, S.C. – The Furman women's lacrosse team begins its season-ending two-game road trip on Wednesday evening when it travels to Spartanburg for a 6 p.m. opening draw against the Wofford Terriers at Gibbs Stadium.

The Paladins (8-7, 5-2 Big South) played their final home game of the regular season on Saturday and earned a 22-16 victory over Gardner-Webb. Furman's 22-goal performance tied the program record for most in a single game, matching the original mark set back on April 20, 2019 in a 22-0 victory over Howard in Greenville. The Paladins, who forced Gardner-Webb into 15 turnovers, also set two program records with 48 shots and 29 draws. Furman held a 29-13 advantage in draws and 18-15 in ground balls.

Offensively, Anna Roser and Sophie Shaw both compiled a team-leading eight points in the win. Shaw's eight points were a career high highlighted by a career best six goals. Roser tied her career high of eight points and dished out a career best four assists. Meagan Beal compiled seven points on five goals and two assists. Hannah Dintino scored twice and won a career high 11 draws. Molly Faul picked up a career high four ground balls and Andrea Fisher caused two turnovers. In goal, Lily Rathbun finished with seven saves and three ground balls.

Wofford is currently 6-9 overall and 3-4 in the Big South after falling 18-10 at High Point last Saturday. The Terriers are under the direction of first-year head coach Jessie Aguglia.

Wednesday's matchup represents the sixth all-time meeting between the Paladins and Wofford. Furman has won each of the previous five contests, dating back to 2018, including a 20-11 victory last season in Greenville.

The Paladins wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 29 when they travel to Clinton, S.C. for a 1 p.m. opening draw at Presbyterian.
