2023 Furman Men's Soccer Schedule

Greenville, S.C. – The 2023 Furman men's soccer team is set to play 10 matches on Seagraves Field at Stone Stadium and will face four opponents ranked in last season's final United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll.

Furman opens its season with an exhibition match versus Lees-McRae on August 12 at Stone Stadium before traveling to Historic Riggs Field in Clemson, S.C., to face No. 13 Clemson on August 15. The Paladins begin regular season play versus former Southern Conference rival Elon on August 25 at the Duke Invitational and take on the host Blue Devils, who finished the 2022 campaign at No. 3 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll, in the tournament finale two days later.

Following a trip to No. 24 Wake Forest on September 4, the Paladins entertain Winthrop in the home opener on Friday, September 8, at 6 p.m. Furman visits Coastal Carolina on September 11 ahead of a five-game homestand that includes matchups against Gardner-Webb (Sept. 16), College of Charleston (Sept. 19), Davidson (Sept. 26), nationally-ranked UNC Greensboro (Sept. 30), and USC Upstate (Oct. 3). The Friday night contest against the UNCG Spartans, who reached the NCAA quarterfinals last season, will serve as the Paladins' annual Quinn Game for Down Syndrome Awareness.

After trips to VMI (Oct. 7) and Mercer (Oct. 14), Furman concludes its regular season home slate by hosting Presbyterian for a non-conference tilt on October 17 and entertaining ETSU for Senior Night on Saturday, October 21. The Paladins travel to UNC Asheville and Wofford to cap the regular season with the SoCon Men's Soccer Championship set to begin on Friday, November 3. The SoCon Championship Match is scheduled for the weekend of November 11-12.

Doug Allison, who ranks as the all-time wins leader in SoCon history, returns for his 29
th season as Furman's head coach. He welcomes back 10 starters from a 2022 squad that posted a 7-7-4 record. In addition to the return of a long list of experienced contributors that includes
Alfredo Diaz-Santillan,
Josh Hosie,
Dylan Lane, and
Tommy Redhead, the Paladins return 2021 All-SoCon forward
Jake Raine and 2022 SoCon All-Freshman selection
Slade Starnes. Raine led Furman with five goals a year ago despite making just four starts due to injury.
