Greenville, S.C. – Furman's
Dylan Lane and
Aaron Salinas have been named Southern Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the league office.
Lane, a native of Raleigh, N.C., assisted on
Christian Kraus' match-winning score in a 2-1 victory over Winthrop last Thursday at Stone Soccer Stadium. On Monday, the senior midfielder netted a pair of second half goals to propel the Paladins to a 3-0 win at Coastal Carolina.
Salinas, making his first career start in Furman's contest versus Winthrop on Thursday, recorded three saves to earn the victory in goal. The freshman from Grand Prairie, Texas, followed his debut by stopping five shots and notching his first career shutout in Monday's victory over the Chanticleers.
The Paladins (3-2-0) are back in action on Saturday when they host Gardner-Webb. Kickoff at Stone Soccer Stadium is set for 6 p.m. and admission is free.
