Leonardo Dal Boni has been selected the Southern Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played January 16-22, it was announced today by the league office.
It is the first career weekly honor for Dal Boni.
A native of Sarasota, Fla., Dal Boni posted an unbeaten 2-0 record at No. 2 singles last week as the Paladins opened the home portion of its schedule. Furman went 1-1 overall highlighted by a 5-2 win over Queens (N.C.) in its home opener on January 19.
He began the week by registering his first career victory with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph in straight sets over Laurenz Blickwede of Queens (N.C.), helping give the Paladins their first win of the 2024 season. Dal Boni followed the next day versus James Madison defeating Julian Lozano, also in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
Furman is back in action Friday hosting Bellarmine and North Greenville in a doubleheader at Mickel Tennis Center.
