Furman's Barth Tied For Seventh, Paladins In Fifth Entering Final Round Of Qubein Cup

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Furman's Harris Barth (+3) is tied for seventh after Monday's two rounds of the Qubein Cup, which is being hosted by High Point at the par 70, 7,130 yard Sedgefield Golf Club in Greensboro, N.C.

A junior from Atlanta, Ga., Barth posted a 73 with three birdies in the day's opening round then shot an even 70 with consecutive birdies on No. 5 and No. 6 to finish out Monday's play.  He sits five shots back of leader Camden Braidech (-2) of Chattanooga, who leads the field by one stroke.

Junior Clark Akers (+4) is one stroke behind Barth in a tie for 11th.  Akers carded a 73 with back to back birdies on No. 8 and No. 9 in round one then posted a 1-over 71 with three birdies and 14 pars in round two.  Fifth-year student Josh Hebrink (+7), who is playing as an individual, recorded a 75 with a birdie on No. 5 in round one then scored a 72 with birdies on No. 13 and No. 18 in round two, tying for 28th place.  

Senior Will Morlan (+10) tallied a 73 with three birdies in round one then carded a 77 with a birdie on No. 6 in the day's second round to tie for 41st, while freshman Ludvig Josefsson (+12) recorded a 78 with a birdie on No. 10 in round one and rebounded with a team-high four birdies, including consecutive birdies on both No. 5 and No. 6 and again on No. 15 and No. 16, in round two.  He finished the round with a 74 and is tied for 54th entering Tuesday's final round. 

Senior Trey Diehl (+13) notched rounds of 75 and 78 with a birdie on No. 5 in each round on Monday, tying for 59th.  

Chattanooga (+8) leads the tournament by six strokes over Nebraska (+14) and Michigan (+14).  Texas A&M (+16) is in fourth place, followed by the Paladins (+26) in fifth place.  UNC Wilmington (+28) is in sixth, with Colorado State (+30) taking seventh place. 

The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m.  Furman will tee off of No. 1 starting at 9:45 a.m. and will play in a group with Texas A&M and UNC Wilmington.
