GREENVILLE, S.C. — Furman's women's basketball squad returns to action on Saturday when it plays host to Bob Jones in a 2:00 p.m. contest at Hayes Gymnasium on the campus of North Greenville University.

NGU's Hayes Gymnasium will serve as the primary home court for the Paladins this season while Timmons Arena, the university's home basketball venue, undergoes a $40 million renovation.

The Paladins are scheduled to play 10 of their 12 home games in 2024-45 at Hayes Gymnasium, as well as two contests  — UNC Greensboro (Jan.18) and Wofford (Feb. 8) — at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in downtown Greenville.

Saturday's gme against Bob Jones will not be streamed, but it will include StatBroadcast live stats available thru the women's basketball schedule page on FurmanPaadins.com.

Furman (3-2) rolled to an 81-53 home victory over USC Upstate on Tuesday at Hayes Gymnasium, using a blistering 30-point third quarter to take command.  Junior forward Sydney Ryan was the catalyst out of the halftime locker room, scoring all 15 of her points in the big third period. Teammates Tate Walters and Niveya Henley led the scoring parade with 16 points apiece, and Walters punctuated her work with six rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Like last year Furman boasts a balanced scoring attack, with Walters (12.0 ppg) and forward Kate Johnson (12.0 ppg) sharing the team lead in scoring, followed closely by Ryan (10.6 ppg) and Henley (10.0 ppg).

The Paladins have gotten a big boost in the early going from freshman forward Clare Coyle (7.0 ppg, team leading 9.0 rpg).  She tallied 11 points in the win over USC Upstate.

Furman could have additional firepower on the way with the expected return of injured senior All-SoCon forward Jada Session next week when the Paladins face a trio of games against Campbell (Nov. 26), Georgia State (Nov. 27), and Purdue Fort Wayne (Nov. 28) at Georgia State's Thanksgiving Tournament in Atlanta.
