Furman Men's Basketball Visits VMI On Wednesday Night

Tip-Off Is Set For 6 P.M. On ESPN+

Greenville, S.C. – Furman begins a two-game Southern Conference road trip on Wednesday night when it travels to Lexington, Va., to face the VMI Keydets.

The Paladins and Keydets square off at Cameron Hall at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to Dan Scott and Tom Van Hoy call the action on The Fan Upstate at 97.7 FM and 1330 AM in Greenville, 97.1 FM and 1490 AM in Spartanburg, and via the Audacy app. Links for the broadcast, live audio, and live statistics are available at FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman begins the road trip at 15-4 overall and 3-3 in SoCon play following a 75-71 loss to Chattanooga at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday. The Mocs rallied from a 13-point deficit in the second half to grab the lead and held off the Paladins in the final moments to hand Furman just its second hoe defeat in 10 games.

The Keydets are 8-11 overall and 2-4 in the SoCon, but VMI comes into Wednesday riding a two-game winning streak. VMI topped Western Carolina 66-50 at Cameron Hall on January 15 before scoring a 75-70 road win at The Citadel this past weekend. Guard Rickey Bradley Jr., one of two Keydets averaging more than 15 points per game, posted 21.5 points per contest in the wins over the Catamounts and Bulldogs to earn SoCon Player of the Week honors.

Wednesday's game marks the 109th series meeting between Furman and VMI. The Paladins hold a 71-37 series lead and have won the last five meetings, including a 75-62 decision in the most recent meeting on February 14, 2024, in Greenville, S.C. VMI holds a 24-23 series lead in Lexington, but Furman walked away with a 100-60 win at Cameron Hall last season on January 17, 2024.

The second half of Furman's road swing is set for Saturday at 4:30 p.m. when the Paladins travel to Macon, Ga., to face the Mercer Bears at Hawkins Arena.
