LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Furman's Harris Barth (-5) fired a final-round 68 Tuesday to tie for 11th to conclude the Everett Buick GMC Classic at the par 72, 7,135 yard Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark.
A senior from Atlanta, Ga., Harris teed off on No. 10 and birdied five out of six holes from No. 14 through No. 1. He added additional birdies on No. 5 and No. 9 for a team-high seven birdies in round three. Barth finished the tournament nine strokes behind individual medalist Minas Manias (-14) of Lipscomb, who tallied rounds of 64-69-69=202 to win by one shot.
Senior Zach Frazer (-1) carded a 73 with a birdie on No. 7 to tie for 30th, while senior Clark Akers (+1) posted a 3-under 69 Tuesday to tie for 35th. Akers went 4-under on his final three holes with birdies on No. 8 and No. 10, two of six birdies on the day, and an eagle on the par 5 No. 9.
Sophomore Ludvig Josefsson (+9) recorded a 79 with a birdie on No. 14, tying for 67th, while freshman Cameron Reed (+12) tallied a 75 with three birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 12 and No. 13 to start the round, tying for 74th.
Host Little Rock (-34) won the tournament by 21 strokes over UAB (-13). Lipscomb (-12) finished third, and Coastal Carolina (-10) and North Texas (-10) tied for fourth. Furman (-1) moved up into a tie for ninth in the final round.
The Paladins return home to entertain 14 teams at the Furman Intercollegiate this weekend. Saturday's action will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Sunday's final round is slated for 8:20 a.m. with tee times off of No. 1 and No. 10.
