Greenville, S.C. – The 11^th-ranked Furman men's soccer team hits the road on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Lexington, Va., to face the VMI Keydets in Southern Conference action.

The Paladins, 8-1-4 overall and 1-0-1 in the SoCon, currently hold a share of first place in the league standings while VMI, 2-8-3 overall and 0-2 in the league, is still in search of its first conference win. Furman picked up its first league victory on Saturday night as SoCon Player of the Week Diego Hernandez, ranked No. 25 in Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Players list this week, converted from the penalty spot in the 69^th minute to break a 2-2 deadlock and hand the Paladins a 3-2 win over ETSU at Stone Stadium. 
 
Saturday's match marks the 44^th all-time meeting between the Paladins and Keydets with Furman holding a 41-1-1 series lead. Last season, Lloyd Wamu Snell netted the game-winning goal and assisted on another as Furman downed VMI 4-1 in Greenville.
 
In addition to Hernandez's inclusion on the top 100 list, defender Braden Dunham (No. 3), goalkeeper Ivan Horvat (No. 22) and defender Connor Stout (No. 79) each landed a spot on Top Drawer Soccer's Midseason Top 100 Freshmen To Watch, it was announced on Friday.
