GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Coming off a two-game road swing against Southeastern Conference foes, Furman's women's basketball team returns home to battle Georgia State on Thursday in a 7:00 p.m. contest.

The game will be streamed via ESPN+, and fans can also follow the action via StatBroadcast live stats and receive timely updates and highlight clip thru @FurmanWBB's "X" account.  Links to the livestream and stats are available on Furman's women's basketball schedule page at FurmanPaladins.com.

Furman (1-2) suffered road losses to Georgia and 19th-ranked Vanderbilt over the last week after opening the 2025-26 season on Nov. 3 with an 85-27 triumph over North Greenville in the first official game in newly renovated Timmons Arena.

Georgia State (2-1) defeated Wofford, 75-68, in Spartanburg on Tuesday.  The Panthers opened the season with a 108-59 triumph over Oglethorpd and were defeated by Mississippi State, 88-62, last Friday in Starkville.

The Paladins took down the Panthers, 85-74, a year ago in Atlanta.  Current Paladins Clare Coyle and Raina McGowens scored seven points apiece in that contest.

Thursday's game will mark Furman's 10th meeting on the hardwood against Georgia State, with the Paladins holding a 6-3 advantage, including a 4-0 mark in Greenville. Furman claimed a 62-55 verdict over Georgia State in Timmons Arena during the 1999-20 campaign.

The Paladins are paced in scoring by sophomore transfer guard Alyssa Ervin (12.7 ppg), who is coming off a 16-point performance (4x9 3PFGs) against Vanderbilt.  She is joined in double figures by McGowens (10.7 ppg), with Coyle (9.7 ppg) close behind.

Furman will look for better ballhandling on Thursday after suffering 25 and 28 turnovers, respectively, against Georgia and Vanderbilt.

The Paladins' modest two-game homestand will continue on Sunday when they play host to Campbell in a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
