GAINESVILLE, Fla -- Furman's Will Morlan (-4) is tied for fifth after Saturday's two rounds of the 48th Gators Invitational, which is being hosted by Florida at the par 70, 6,701 yard Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla.

A senior from Alpharetta, Ga., Morlan fired a 66 with an eagle on No. 7 and three-straight birdies from No. 10 through No. 12 in round one then eagled his final hole, the par 5 No. 3, to add a 70 with a birdie on No. 11 in the days' second round.  He stands three strokes back of a trio of leaders with 18 holes to play.  

Junior Harris Barth (+1) notched consecutive birdies on No. 7 and No. 8 and added a third birdie on No. 17 to card a 73 in the first round then scored a 2-under 68 with a team-high four birdies after scoring birdies on three out of four holes from No. 14 through No. 17 in the day's second round.  He is tied for 28th entering Sunday's final round. 

Senior Trey Diehl  (+7) and freshman Ludvig Josefsson (+7) are tied for 61st.  Diehl tallied a 72 with three birdies in the morning and posted a 75 with a birdie on No. 13 in round two, while Josefsson scored a 76 with a birdie on No. 7 in round one and rebounded with a 1-over 71 with three birdies in the second round.  

Junior Clark Akers (+10) fired a 69 with a team-high four birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 16 and No. 17, in the morning round then carded an 81 in the afternoon, tying for 72nd. 

Host Florida (+15), which ranks 14th nationally, leads the tournament by two strokes over ninth-ranked Oklahoma State (-13).  No. 25 South Florida (-11) sits in third, followed by Georgia Southern (-9) in fourth and Florida Gulf Coast (-5) in fifth place.  The Paladins (+4) are tied for seventh with Liberty (+4).  

The 54-hole tournament will conclude on Sunday at 7:20 a.m. with a modified shotgun start.  Furman will tee off of No. 10 and will play in a group with Liberty and Jacksonville.
