Greenville, S.C. – The Furman softball team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., this weekend to take part in the T-Mobile Crimson Classic at the University of Alabama's Rhoads Stadium.
Tournament play begins at 12 p.m. ET on Friday versus SIU Edwardsville before the Paladins face the 22
nd-ranked Crimson Tide on SEC Sports Network+ at 7:30 p.m. ET. Furman and Alabama clash once again on SECN+ at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday prior to the Paladins' 5 p.m. match-up against the UAB Blazers. The Paladins and SIUE Cougars cap tournament play on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. ET.
Friday's games will mark the first ever meeting for the Paladins versus both SIUE and Alabama while Saturday's clash with UAB will be the fifth all-time. UAB holds a 3-1 series lead against Furman.
The Paladins (5-11) are looking to snap a three-game skid after dropping both ends of a doubleheader versus USC Upstate (15-1) on Wednesday afternoon at Pepsi Stadium. The Spartans scored a pair of runs in the sixth and seventh innings to claim a 6-1 lead in game one and rallied from an early deficit to capture an 8-3 decision in the nightcap.
