Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team returns to the road this weekend when it travels to face the Chattanooga Mocs on Saturday at McKenzie Arena.
Tip-off for Saturday afternoon's tilt. In Chattanooga, Tenn., is slated for 4:30 p.m. and will be streamed live on ESPN+. Nick Anderson ignited a rally with back-to-back three-pointers and scored on a driving layup in the final 10 seconds of regulation to knot the game at 66-66 and force the extra period. Anderson scored 11 of Furman's 18 points in overtime and
Tom House buried a crucial three-pointer to secure the victory.
Wednesday's triumph marked the 10
th time this season Furman rallied from a second half deficit to grab a win. Anderson finished with a season-high 30 points,
PJay Smith Jr. totaled 15 points, and
Garrett Hien registered his second double-double of the year with 13 points and a career-best 15 rebounds.
Saturday's game marked the 101
st meeting between Furman and Chattanooga (16-8, 8-3 SoCon) with the Mocs holding a 59-41 series edge, including a 32-13 advantage in games played in Chattanooga. The Mocs rallied late to claim a 75-71 victory over the Paladins in the first meeting of the season on January 18, at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
