GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's tennis team will visit Winston-Salem, N.C., on Friday and Saturday for matches at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. The Paladins will take on the Demon Deacons Friday at 4 p.m. then square off in a neutral match versus James Madison on Saturday at noon.

The Paladins are a perfect 4-0 after beating UNC Asheville, 5-2, on Saturday. Furman opened the season with a 4-3 win over No. 22 Alabama then defeated North Florida, 7-0, and Appalachian State, 5-2, to conclude January's play.
Sophomore Macy Hitchcock is 4-0 at flight five singles this season, while in doubles, seniors Ellie Schulson and Sara Snyder have teamed up for a 4-0 mark at flight one, and senior Jess Dawson and Hitchcock are 4-0 at flight two.
Wake Forest enters Friday's match at 5-2 after falling to Marshall, 4-3, on Sunday. After opening the season with a 4-3 loss to Tennessee, the Demon Deacons won five-straight matches over East Carolina, ETSU, Liberty, Old Dominion, and Elon. Wake Forest leads the all-time series, 28-2, after beating Furman, 7-0, last season in Greenville.
James Madison is 0-5 but has squared off against some of the nation's top teams in No. 11 Duke, sixth-ranked North Carolina, No. 9 Virginia, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech. The Paladins defeated the Dukes, 4-1, when the teams last met in Charlotte in 2022 to tie the series at 1-all.
Furman concluded the 2024 season with a 6-1 Southern Conference record and advanced to the finals of the league championships for the seventh-consecutive time. Sara Snyder was selected to the All-SoCon first team for singles, while Ellie Schulson and Macy Hitchcock were named to the first team for doubles. Grace Thomas was honored with an All-SoCon second team citation at flight four singles, and Marissa Pennings was voted to the second team at flight six singles. In doubles, Furman's Jess Dawson, Snyder, and Thomas earned second-team honors.
