AUGUSTA, Ga. -- After Saturday's opening 36 holes, the Furman women's golf team is in fourth place at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at the par 72, 6,201 yard Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

The Paladins placed three players among the top 18, including sophomore Audrey Ryu (+3), who is tied for 12th.  Ryu, a native of Dublin, Ohio, fired a 1-under 71 with a team-high six birdies, including four-straight birdies from No. 9 through No. 12, in round one then added a 76 with a birdie on No. 5 in the afternoon round.  

Freshman Jenna Madden (+5) is tied for 16th entering Sunday's final round.  She carded a 71 with four birdies in round one, capitalizing off consecutive birdies on No. 12 and No. 13.  Freshman Eva Ringwald (+6) shot a 73 with birdies on No. 6 and No. 17 in round one and a 77 with birdies on No. 5 and No. 17 in round two tow tie for 18th.

Sophomore Kelsi Mauzy (+11) carded a 77 in the morning round and 78 with three birdies in the afternoon, tying for 40th, while senior Alise Knudson (+14) recorded a 78 with a birdie on No. 14 in round one and an 80 in round two to tie for 52nd.

Freshman Andrea Marin Raga (+15), who is playing as an individual, is tied for 57th after carding a 77 with four birdies in five holes from No. 9 through No. 13 in round one then scoring an 82 with a birdie on No. 1 round two. 

Klara Hurtova (-5) of Texas Tech, leads the tournament by three strokes after posting rounds of 69-70=139 on Saturday.

Georgia Southern (+6) holds a three-stroke lead over UCF (+9) after two rounds of play.  Michigan State (+11) sits in third place, followed by the Paladins (+25) in fourth place.  Texas Tech (+27) is in fifth place.  

The 54-hole tournament is slated to conclude with a shotgun start on Sunday.  Due to predicted inclement weather in the Augusta area, the final round will not begin before 9:30 a.m.  Admission to Sunday's final round is free and fans are welcome.  Live results are available at https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=29380.
