GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman's Harris Barth has been selected as the Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 19-25.  The selection is made by the league office.

Barth, who also won the honor alongside teammate Clark Akers on Oct. 23, tied for fifth at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, S.C., which wrapped play on Tuesday.  A junior from Atlanta, Ga., he posted rounds of 69-69-68 for a tournament score of 206 (-10).  Barth finished in the top 10 of the tournament in par-5 scoring (4.53) and completed the event with 14 birdies, including six in the final round.

Furman placed third at the Hootie at Bulls Bay in the 15-team, 84-golfer field with a three-round total of 837.  The Paladins, who defeated 48th-ranked New Mexico in the event, had all five players shoot par or better in the final round.

Furman will compete at the Haskins Invitational in Augusta, Ga., April 5-6.
