TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senior Alise Knudson (+9) tied for 28th to lead the Furman women's golf team Tuesday in the final day of the MountainView Collegiate, which was hosted by Kansas State and Missouri at the par 72, 6,345 yard The Preserve Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Knudson teed off on No. 13 in the day's shotgun start and birdied No. 17 to turn at even par.  She  added a birdie on No. 9 then birdied her final hole, No. 12, to finish the day with a 1-over 73.  

Sophomore Audrey Ryu (+10) also tallied a 73 with birdies on No. 4 and No. 17 to tie for 30th, while freshman Jenna Madden (+15) scored a 74 with three birdies, including birdies on two of her first three holes, to finish 54th.  Sophomore Kelsi Mauzy (+17) tied for 58th after carding a 78 with birdies on No. 8 and No. 18, and freshman Eva Ringwald (+19), who led the Paladins with a 1-under 71 and a team-high five birdies on Tuesday, tied for 63rd. 

Carla Bernat (-11) of Kansas State won the tournament by nine strokes with a three-round total of 70-68-67=205 to lead the 30th-ranked Wildcats (+4) to a 10-stroke team victory.  No. 18 Arizona (+14) finished second followed by 13th-ranked TCU (+15) in third.  No. 34 Oklahoma (+21) placed fourth, and Wisconsin (+30) finished fifth.  

The Paladins (+44), who placed second in the field with a 291 on Tuesday, moved up two spots in the final round to finish 11th, two strokes ahead of 47th-ranked Miami.

Furman will compete at the Briar's Creek Invitational, March 10-11, in Charleston, S.C.
