Greenville, S.C. – Furman head coach Bob Richey recently completed his 2025-26 men's basketball staff by welcoming four new faces to the Paladins' bench.
 
Assistant coaches Klint Carlson and Kotie Kimble have joined the Paladin staff, along with director of sport performance for men's basketball Wells Hoag and men's basketball athletic trainer Tyler Hrubes.
 
Carlson, a former standout on the court at the University of Northern Iowa, joined the Paladins after stints as video coordinator and player development coach over the past three seasons with the NBA's Golden State Warriors. He also served as video coordinator on head coach Steve Kerr's United States men's basketball staff during the 2024 Olympics in Paris as the USA captured the gold.
 
Kimble boasts 17 years of collegiate coaching experience and spent the past three seasons at the University of Miami. He helped guide the Hurricanes to a 29-win season and Final Four appearance in 2023. Kimble also made coaching stops at UNC Asheville, William & Mary, and Charlotte after two seasons as a student assistant at Coastal Carolina.
 
Hoag, a Clemson graduate, comes to Furman after serving as the Tigers' assistant basketball sport performance coach in 2024-25. The previous season, he worked at the University of Miami as assistant strength and conditioning coach for men's and women's basketball.
 
Hrubes spent the past two seasons as the athletic training intern for men's basketball and men's golf at the University of Florida. Prior to working with the 2025 national champion Gators, he served as a student assistant at Marquette University.
 
Furman will hold a ribbon-cutting and open house at the newly renovated Timmons Arena on Monday, August 25, at 4 p.m. Students, staff, alumni, and the entire Greenville community are invited to attend free of charge. The Paladins open the facility on Sunday, October 26, when they host the Alabama Crimson Tide in exhibition action.
