Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team, currently in a three-way tie for second place in the Southern Conference standings, visits league-leading East Tennessee State Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. clash at Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tenn.

Furman is searching for its fourth straight win and 13
th in its last 16 games after improving to 16-7 overall and 7-3 in SoCon play with a 75-70 triumph versus Chattanooga on Sunday afternoon at Timmons Arena. Freshman
Alex Wilkins led the way with a career-high 33 points and the Paladins shot 50% from the field to complete the regular season sweep of the Mocs. The 33-point performance for Wilkins, the most by a Paladin rookie since Jonathan Moore netted a Furman freshman record 34 points versus Georgia in December of 1976, helped the Mattapan, Mass., native capture SoCon Player of the Week honors for the first time.

ETSU rolled to an 86-72 win at Wofford on Sunday evening to up its record to 16-7 overall and 8-2 in the league. Wednesday's game, the first of two regular season clashes between Furman and ETSU, marks the 72
nd series meeting with the Paladins holding a 36-35 edge. ETSU earned a season split and stopped a five-game Furman winning streak in the series with a 72-69 victory in the most recent meeting between the schools on February 2, 2025, in Johnson City. Prior to the loss, Furman had won two straight over the Bucs at Freedom Hall.

Following Wednesday's key matchup atop the SoCon standings, Furman returns home on Sunday, February 8, to hosts UNC Greensboro at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
