MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Furman's Ludvig Josefsson (-4) is tied for eighth at the end of Sunday's opening day of the Michael A. Marino Classic at the par 72, 7,370 yard The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Teams played 27 holes of the tournament's 54 holes on Sunday.  Due to predicted inclement weather on Monday, teams will tee off at 9 a.m. in an attempt to complete the second round.  The final round is slated for Tuesday, and teams will be repaired by score before the third round.  

A sophomore from Hestra, Sweden, Josefsson birdied four out of five holes from No. 3 through No. 7 to finish the first round with a 68 and a team-high seven birdies.  He has two birdies so far in round two and sits three strokes back of individual leaders Nolan Harper (-7) of Florida Gulf Coast and Cooper Claycomb (-7) of Louisville.   

Senior Harris Barth (+3) is tied for 51st.  He shot a 77 with birdies on No. 13 and No. 15 in the opening round but rebounded with three birdies in four holes from No. 3 through No. 6 in round two.  Seniors Clark Akers (+5) and Zach Frazer (+5) are tied for 65th.  Akers tallied a 78 with three birdies in round one and notched three birdies from No. 5 through No. 8 in round two, while Frazer scored a 77 with birdies on No. 1 and No. 4 in the opening round and a birdie on No. 2 in the second round. 

Freshman David Oliver IV (+4), who is playing as an individual, carded a 75 with a birdie on No. 4 in round one and posted a birdie on No. 17 in round two, tying for 29th, and junior Fisher Kennedy (+11) is in 88th place after notching a 78 with a birdie on No. 1 in round one and a birdie on No. 8 in the second round. 

Liberty (-12) leads the tournament by one shot over No. 33 Louisville (-11).  N.C. State (-10) is in third place, followed by host Coastal Carolina (-7) in fourth and Baylor (-6) in fifth place.  The Paladins (+9) are tied for 11th with North Florida.
