GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman will begin its quest to defend the league title Monday at the 2026 Southern Conference Women's Golf Championship at the par-72, 6,219 yard Columbia Country Club in Blythewood, S.C.

The Paladins, who captured their 21st SoCon Championship last season, won nine straight SoCon titles from 1994-2002, and Furman has won eight of the last ten league championships.  

In 2025, the Paladins scored a nine-stroke win over runner-up Chattanooga, and junior Audrey Ryu, who fired an opening round 66, the best round in the history of the SoCon tournament,won the league individual title and was voted the SoCon Player of the Year.  

Furman, which enters this year's tournament ranked 66th, has produced a league-best 20 individual medalists at past tournaments, and Paladin head coach Jeff Hull has been honored with four SoCon Coach of the Year awards, with the most recent one coming in 2025.

The Paladin lineup for the 2026 championships will include Ryu, freshman Olivia Hasselbach, sophomore Eva Ringwald, sophomore Jenna Madden, and freshman Ava Hanneman.  Sophomore Andrea Marin Raga will serve as an alternate.

The 54-hole championship will include three days of play, with one 18-hole round per day.  On Monday, Furman will play in a group with Mercer and Chattanooga and will tee off of No. 1 beginning at 9:20 a.m.

The winner of the SoCon Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, while the individual champion will also earn automatic regional qualification.  The NCAA field will be announced live on the Golf Channel on Wed., April 29, at 5 p.m.
