Braden Dunham has once again been called up to the United States Men's National Team U-19 squad, it was announced on Thursday by the United States Soccer Federation.
Dunham, the 2025 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year honors and No. 2 ranked freshman in the country this past season by Top Drawer Soccer, is the lone collegiate player named to head coach Gonzalo Segares' 24-man roster that will take on Japan on June 9 at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Atlanta, Ga. The match is part of the team's preparation for this summer's Concacaf U-20 Championship, which serves as qualification for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. ET.
As a freshman in 2025, Dunham netted seven goals to help lead Furman to a 16-2-5 record, the SoCon regular season and tournament titles, and the school's first trip to the NCAA Men's College Cup. The Peachtree City, Ga., native and Atlanta United FC product scored a thrilling goal from 40 yards out to propel Furman past No 8 seed Portland in the NCAA quarterfinals and assisted on
Luke Hutzell's goal in the national semifinals against eventual national champion Washington en route to earning All-NCAA College Cup Team honors.
Dunham, who started all 23 matches at centerback during his rookie season, also garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Freshman honors and Top Drawer Soccer Best XI Freshman accolades after helping the Paladins to a final No. 3 national ranking. He earned his first call-up to the U.S. U-19 team in March for training camp in Spain.
