GREENVILLE, S.C. – A total of 281 Furman student-athletes have been named to the 2025-26 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, which was released on Wednesday by the league office.

Furman's 281 selections, which ranked third among all SoCon schools, represent the 18 intercollegiate sports offered by the university in 2025-26.

The academic honor roll originated in 1988-89, when SoCon athletic directors established the award to recognize the league's outstanding student-athletes. The academic honor roll consists of student-athletes who participated in varsity sports and posted a 3.0 grade point average or higher for the academic year, were eligible the entire academic year, and were members of the final squad lists.

Thirty-two Paladins garnered perfect 4.0 grade point averages for the 2025-26 school year:  Wesley Abraham (football), Noah Akinsola (football), Walker Allen (men's tennis), Walter Anderson (men's golf), Katie Bengough (women's soccer), Bruce Brown (football), Joshua Burrell (football), Ansley Chiang (softball), Riley Clark (football), Briyah Drayton (women's soccer), Kristyn Embler (softball), Reece Fragle (men's soccer), Zach Frazer (men's golf), Vivianna Gutierrez (women's soccer), Evan Guzman (men's cross country/track & field), Skylar Hilmer (women's lacrosse), Ivan Horvat (men's soccer), Shae Insinga (women's lacrosse), Harris Jenne (football), Fisher Kennedy (men's golf), Ava King (women's soccer), Zach Lee (football), Connor Morin (football), Jenna Mulhern (women's cross country/track & field), Jackson Price (men's soccer), Tanner Schuck (football), Abby Shearer (women's lacrosse), Ryan Smith (men's cross country/track & field), Jack Travis (men's soccer), Ben Vander Wal (men's basketball), Carly Wilkes (women's cross country/track & field), Vanessa Wolf (women's soccer).

78 Furman student-athletes received the SoCon Commissioner's Medal, which were accorded to student-athletes sporting GPAs of 3.8 or better.

The SoCon had a total of 2,698 selections, second-most in league history, to the Academic Honor Roll. Of this year's qualifiers, 863 earned the Commissioner's Medal, awarded to student-athletes who attain a GPA of 3.8 or higher throughout the year, and 282 posted perfect 4.0 GPAs.
