GREENVILLE, S.C. — Furman University Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Jason Donnelly announced several new roles within his leadership team on Thursday.

"While our accomplishments are often measured by championships and national recognition, those achievements are only possible because of the talented team working behind the scenes with dedication, humility, and a shared commitment to excellence. These promotions recognize individuals who have earned increased responsibility through their leadership and impact, while reinforcing our commitment to developing great people, ensuring continuity of leadership, and building on the strong culture that makes Furman Athletics special."
Nate Burton, the Paladins' Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs & Revenue Generation, has been promoted to Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs & Revenue Generation. Burton joined Furman Athletics in March of 2025 following eight years at West Virginia State, where he served as Athletics Director for seven years before being elevated to Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2024.
Sue Eckstein, Associate Athletics Director for Administration, has been promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration & Student Success. A member of Furman's athletics staff since 2018, she has served in a number of roles, including manager of the Mickel Tennis Center and administrative assistant to Jason Donnelly prior to her current position, which she assumed in 2023. Eckstein served as Director of Athletics for 13 years at Trinity School of Durham (N.C.) and Chapel Hill before coming to Greenville.
Karen Price, Associate Athletics Director for Finance & Administration, has been elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Finance & Administration. She joined the Paladin Athletics family in 2018 as an administrative assistant for men's and women's basketball before transitioning to the athletics business office. She was a member of the administrative team at Five Oaks Academy in Simpsonville for five years before coming to Furman.
Tyler Rosenberger, Associate Athletics Director for Compliance & Academic Services, has been elevated to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Compliance & Strategic Athlete Services. Rosenberger came to Furman in 2023 following a three-year stint in a similar capacity at Gardner-Webb. A member of the NAAC Professional Development Committee, he also completed stints in the compliance departments at both Florida Gulf Coast and Georgia State.
In the coming weeks, Furman Athletics will be announcing a series of additional promotions acknowledging the leadership and contributions of the staff impacting the success of the athletic department.
