2012 College Sports Madness All-SoCon
Greenville, S.C. – Furman's Nikki Legg has been named to College Sports Madness' All-Southern Conference Second Team, it was announced on Sunday afternoon.
Legg, a sophomore, has batted a team-best .344 with four doubles, a triple and 12 RBI while starting 50 of Furman's 51 games in center field this season. The Pawley's Island, S.C., native ranks among the league's top 10 with 56 hits this season and leads the Paladins with 27 runs.
Furman, 17-34 overall and 6-18 in SoCon play, face No. 9 seed Samford in the Southern Conference Softball Championship play-in game on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Boone, N.C. A win would move Furman into the double elimination portion of the tournament where it would face top seed Georgia Southern on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
