Box Score

Greenville, S.C. -- Former Furman basketball standout and 2016 Southern Conference Player of the Year Stephen Croone has joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA D-League, it was announced on Monday.

Croone averaged 17.1 points per game, including 19.2 per contest versus Southern Conference opposition, as a senior in 2015-16 en route to becoming the first Paladin to garner AP Honorable Mention All-America honors since Jonathan Moore in 1978. Croone captured consensus SoCon Player of the Year honors, All-SoCon honors and NABC All-District First Team accolades, while helping Furman to a 19-16 overall record, 11-7 league mark, third place conference finish and a second round appearance in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.

This is an exciting opportunity for Stephen," said Furman coach Niko Medved. "I know he has been working hard and is hungry to get back on to the court. We will be watching and pulling hard for him."

Croone's first game as a member of the Skyforce, an affiliate of the NBA's Miami Heat, will be on Tuesday night against the Iowa Energy.

A native of Covington, Ga., Croone finished his career ranked fifth in Furman history with 1,936 points. He finished his collegiate career as a three-time All-SoCon choice and ranked among Furman's top five in points, assists and steals.
