Furman vs. Elon Game Notes
Greenville, S.C. – Furman basketball begins a four-game road trip when it travels to Elon, N.C., to face the Elon Phoenix and UT Arlington Mavericks in the mainland portion of the Battle4Atlantis this week.
The Paladins will face Elon at 7 p.m. Tuesday before battling the Mavericks at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schar Center on the Elon University campus. Both games can be heard on the Furman Basketball Radio Network via 1440AM, the TuneIn Radio app and thru Paladin All-Access at FurmanPaladins.com. Tuesday's game will be streamed by FloSports for a subscription fee.
Furman enters Tuesday's bout with Elon at 5-1 on the season following a 90-45 victory over Columbia International on Friday night at Timmons Arena. A 31-3 run helped Furman build a 55-23 halftime lead and the Paladins posted connected on 64.4% of their shots to post their highest field goal percentage since 2004. Sophomore
Noah Gurley hit on 6-of-7 shots to lead the way with 16 points, while senior
Jordan Lyons added 14 points.
Tuesday's game marks the 18
th all-time meeting between Furman and Elon with the Phoenix holding an 11-6 series lead. Furman, however, has won the last two meeting, downing the Phoenix 76-67 in Greenville, S.C., during the 2017-18 season before claiming a 98-77 triumph at the Schar Center as part of the Paladins' 12-0 start last season.

The Phoenix are 2-4 after suffering a 69-64 home loss to Manhattan on Saturday at the Schar Center. The loss to the Jaspers followed road losses at Michigan and fifth-ranked North Carolina.
Wednesday's meeting will mark the first between Furman and Sun Belt Conference member UT Arlington. The Mavericks are 3-3 on the season following Sunday's 85-68 triumph over Arkansas Tech, but lost by just 10 at 14
th-ranked Oregon and six points at eighth-ranked Gonzaga last week.
Following this week's games in Elon, N.C., Furman will travel to face the USF Bulls in Tampa, Fla., on December 2, and nationally-ranked Auburn in Auburn, Ala., on December 5, before hosting USC Upstate at Timmons Arena on Sunday, December 8.
