Greenville, S.C. – The Furman men's basketball team will face the Appalachian State Mountaineers in a non-conference contest on Friday evening with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Timmons Arena.

Furman students can take a study break from exams on Friday and get free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts prior to tipoff. Plus, all fans can wear their pajamas to the game.
The Paladins (6-3) traveled to Rock Hill, S.C. on Tuesday and dropped an 85-80 decision to the Winthrop Eagles.
Jalen Slawson became the first Furman player in program history to record a triple-double after leading the Paladins with 15 points on 6-of-16 shooting, 12 assists (career high), 10 rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Alex Hunter scored a game high 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting, 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 6-of-7 at the free throw line.
Mike Bothwell contributed 10 points and
Conley Garrison nine.
Furman concluded the game shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 41.7 percent behind the 3-point line and 81.8 percent at the free throw line. The Paladins held an 8-5 advantage in second chance points and 8-7 in fast break points.
Hunter leads Furman offensively this season averaging 18.3 points per game while Bothwell contributes 16.4. Slawson pours in 16.9 points and a team leading 9.2 rebounds per game.
Appalachian State is currently 5-4 on the season following a 90-29 victory at home over Boyce on December 1. Adrian Delph leads the Mountaineers offensively averaging 16.4 points per game while contributing 5.0 rebounds. Defensively, James Lewis Jr. has recorded a team high 5.1 rebounds per game. Appalachian State is under the direction of third-year head coach Dustin Kerns.
The Paladins are facing the Mountaineers for the 87
th time in program history and leads the all-time series 47-39. The teams last met during the 2015-16 season with Furman defeating Appalachian State, 79-70, in Boone, N.C.
The Paladins begin a two-game road trip on Tuesday, December 14 traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. for a 7 p.m. tipoff at North Carolina.
