GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Junior Anna Morgan (-7) scored a hole in one and finished with a 7-under 65 to take a four-stroke advantage over the field and help Furman to the team lead Friday at the 47th Annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the par-72, 6,278-yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan birdied No. 3 and No. 9 to turn at 1-under then birdied No. 11 before posting an eagle on the par-5 No. 13.  Following an additional birdie on No. 14, she scored a hole in one on No. 16 to finish four strokes ahead of North Florida's Sara McKevitt (-3), who sits in second. 

Furman has four players in the top 11, including senior Sarah-Eve Rhéaume (-2), who is tied for third after firing a 70 with a team-high six birdies, including consecutive birdies on No. 2 and No. 3 and again on No. 16 and No. 17.  Senior Kyra Cox (E) is tied for ninth after shooting an even 72 with an eagle on the par-5 No. 13 and two birdies.

Freshman Savannah Hylton (+1) recorded a 73 with a birdie on No. 3 to enter Saturday's second round tied for 11th, while sophomore Sophia Burnett (+3) shot a 75 with back to back birdies on No. 12 and No. 13 to tie for 25th.

Sophomore Caroline Crumrine (+7), who is playing as an individual, tallied a 79 with a birdie on No. 18, tying for 57th.  

The Paladins (-8) lead the field by 12 strokes after Friday's opening round.  Coastal Carolina (+4) is in second, and there is a three-way tie for third between Augusta (+7), James Madison (+7), and Georgia Southern (+7).

The second round of the 54-hole tournament will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with final round play slated for a shotgun start Sunday at 9 a.m.  Furman will tee off of No. 1 beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will play in a group with Coastal Carolina and Augusta.
