GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Senior Anna Morgan (-8) carded a 66 to surge into the lead Saturday as Furman (-1)  took sole possession of first place at the 49th Annual Lady Paladin Invitational at the par-72, 6,262 yard Furman University Golf Course in Greenville, S.C.

The Paladins shot 2-over as a team and enter Sunday's final round with a two-stroke lead over Western Kentucky (+1) and Augusta (+1), who are deadlocked in second place.  North Florida (+2) is in fourth, followed by James Madison (+7), who completes the top five.

A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Morgan played a flawless round with six birdies and 12 pars.  She opened the tournament with consecutive birdies on No. 1 and No.2 and, after parring No. 6, turned at 3-under.  She birdied two out of three holes from No. 11 through No. 13 and remained steady on the back before tallying a final birdie on No. 18.  Morgan leads the field by two strokes with 18 holes to play.

Freshman Audrey Ryu (-1) eagled the par 5 No. 13 then recorded back to back birdies on No. 15 and No. 16.  She tallied a 74 and enters Sunday's final round in tenth place.  Junior Alise Knudson (+3) shot a 75 with three birdies on Saturday to tie for 23rd, while senior Caroline Crumrine (+5) and freshman Kelsi Mauzy (+5) are tied for 34th after two rounds after each recorded a 75 on Saturday.  Crumrine birdied No. 11 and No. 13, while Mauzy posted birdies on No. 6 and No. 13.

Sophomore Liza Lapeyre (+10) and freshman Katie Ireland (+20) are competing as individuals.  Lapeyre recorded three birdies with consecutive birdies on No. 2 and No. 3 for a second-round 76, while Ireland shot a 78 with three birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 11 and No. 12.  

The 54-hole tournament concludes Sunday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.  Furman will tee off on No. 1 through No. 3 and will play in a group with Western Kentucky, Augusta, and North Florida.
