The Paladins, ranked No. 7 in the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 and No. 73 in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET Rankings, comes into Saturday's game at 13-1 overall and riding a six-game winning streak after rolling to a 90-61 victory at Western Carolina in Wednesday's SoCon opener. The 13-1 start is the best by a Paladin team since 1931-32 and Furman's five true road wins this season is second only to UC Irvine's six road victories. The Paladins join Oklahoma and Florida as the only teams to have won 13 games so far this season.

Graduate transfer Nick Anderson poured in 20 points and forward Charles Johnston added 17 as six Paladins reached double figures in the 90-61 win at Western Carolina. Furman scored the first 13 points of the game and led wire-to-wire to defeat the Catamounts for the 20th time in the last 23 series meetings. The Paladins committed just four turnovers, which represented a season-low and the fewest by a Furman team since March of 2023.

Furman and UNCG have met 46 times with the Spartans holding a 25-21 series lead. UNCG has claimed four of the last five meetings between the schools and completed a sweep of the Paladins last year by downing Furman ,79-68, in Greensboro before taking an 89-87 decision in Greenville in the most recent encounter on February 4, 2024.

UNCG improved to 8-6 overall and 1-0 in the league by connecting on a three-pointer with under nine seconds remaining to down Wofford, 68-66, on Wednesday afternoon in Spartanburg, S.C. Junior Kenyon Giles averages 16.0 points per game to lead three Spartans averaging in double figures.

Following Saturday's clash, Furman caps its four-game road trip with a trip to The Citadel on Wednesday, January 8. The Paladins host Wofford in the SoCon home opener at Bon Secours Wellness Arena on Saturday, January 11, at noon and tickets are available at FurmanPaladins.com.
