Furman rallied from a 12-point deficit in the second half to take a 67-60 lead with under 10 minutes to play, but the Buccaneers held the Paladins without a basket for the final six minutes and finished on a 12-2 run to grab the homecourt victory. Western Carolina dropped an 80-76 overtime decision at home against VMI on Saturday afternoon to fall to 6-15 overall and 2-8 in league play. The Catamounts have dropped five of their last six games with the lone win during the stretch coming on January 25 at The Citadel.
Furman holds a 57-31 lead in the all-time series versus the Catamounts and has prevailed in 20 of the last 23 meetings. In the first meeting of the season between the school on January 1 in Cullowhee, N.C., the Paladins raced out to a 43-23 halftime lead en route to a 90-61 victory. Guard
