Furman's Barth Moves Into Tie For 11th Entering Final Round Of NCAA Tallahassee Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Furman's Harris Barth (-2) fired a 4-under 68 to move into a tie for 11th following Tuesday's second round of the NCAA Tallahassee Regional at the par-72, 7,520 yard Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.

A junior from Atlanta, Ga., Barth recorded three-straight birdies from No. 2 through No. 4 and turned at 2-under.  He added three additional birdies on the back, including consecutive birdies on No. 14 and No. 15, to move up 30 spots on the leaderboard.  Florida State's Luke Clanton (-12), who ranks fifth nationally, continues to hold the individual lead after posting his second-straight 66 on Tuesday.

Senior Trey Diehl (+1) recorded a 75 with five birdies, including back to back birdies on No. 11 and No. 12, to tie for 22nd, while senior Will Morlan (+6) tallied a 78 with birdies on No. 4 and No. 11 and is tied for 50th.  Junior Clark Akers (+7) is in 54th place after carding a 78 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 11 in the second round, and freshman Ludvig Josefsson (+12) shot a 79 with birdies on No. 5 and No. 15, tying for 65th.  

No. 11 Florida State (-21) extended its lead to 14 strokes in Tuesday's second round.  Third-ranked Ole Miss (-7) is in second place, followed by No. 22 Georgia (-6) in third place.  No. 46 New Mexico (-2) sits in fourth place, and Augusta (-1) is currently in fifth place.  Furman (+12) enters the final round in 11th place.  

The Paladins, who will tee off of No. 10 at 8:55 a.m. on Wednesday and play in a group with Northwestern and Michigan State, are part of a 14-team regional field that is battling for a top-five finish and a berth in the 30-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 23-28 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.  

Furman, which received a regional at-large bid for just the second time since 2002, is making its sixth NCAA Regional appearance.  The Paladins last competed at a regional in 2023, when Furman finished tenth at the NCAA Salem Regional in Salem, S.C.
