CARLSBAD, Calif. -- Furman's
Audrey Ryu (+8) tied for 47th Monday in the final round of stroke play at the 2025 NCAA Championship, which was contested at the par-72, 6,330 yard Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
Ryu, a native of Dublin, Ohio, started on the back nine Monday and recorded a birdie at No. 10 and No. 4 en route to a final round 78.
Arkansas' Maria Jose Marin (-12) carded a three-under 69 in final round play to capture individual medalist honors while Stanford (-27) extended its lead over second place Oregon to 21 strokes entering match-play.
Ryu reached the NCAA Championship after tying for seventh at the NCAA Normal Regional. At last month's SoCon Championship, she established a new league championship record with an opening-round 66 and went on to capture individual medalist honors. Ryu led the league with 72.5 stroke average over 31 rounds this season to earn her second-consecutive all-conference scroll. In 11 events during the 2024-25 season, she recorded five top-10 finishes, including a fourth-place finish at the Evie Odom Invitational and a fifth-place finish at the Landfall Tradition.
A concert pianist and a biology major with a 4.0 GPA, Ryu, who captured her first career individual win at the SoCon tournament, was also honored with the 2025 SoCon Pinnacle Award, given annually to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA on the championship team.
