Furman To Open Play At NCAA Norman Regional Monday

Head Coach Jeff Hull & Eva Ringwald

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Furman women's golf team will open play Monday in the 54-hole NCAA Norman Regional at the par-72, 6,445 yard Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla.

Due to predicted inclement weather in the Norman area, teams will play 36 holes on Monday, and the final 18 holes will be played on either Tuesday or Wednesday.  The Paladins will tee off beginning at 9:25 a.m. ET from No. 10 and will play in a group with Denver and Southern Mississippi in the opening day of play.

Furman's lineup for the regional will include sophomore Audrey Ryu, freshman Jenna Madden, senior Alise Knudson, sophomore Kelsi Mauzy, and freshman Eva Ringwald.

The Paladins, who are the No. 11 seed in Norman, are part of an 12-team regional field that will battle for a top-five finish and a berth in the 30-team NCAA Championship, which will be held May 16-21 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.  The Norman Regional field includes four of the top 25 teams in the country led by top-ranked Stanford.  No. 12 Northwestern, 13th-ranked North Carolina, and No. 24 Michigan State will compete in Norman.

Furman, which secured the Southern Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by capturing its 21st SoCon Championship last month at Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, S.C., will make its 25th NCAA Regional appearance.  The Paladins appeared in 17-straight regionals from 1993, when the regional format began, until 2010.

The Furman team finished 10th at the NCAA Athens Regional in 2023, and Anna Morgan tied for tenth.  At last year's NCAA Auburn Regional, Morgan and Ryu competed as individuals, where Morgan tied for 21st and Ryu tied for 46th.
