GREENVILLE, S.C. --  The Furman men's golf team will compete at the Bearcat Invitational Monday and Tuesday at the par 71, 7,279 yard Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.

"This will be our second-consecutive year competing in Cincinnati at the Bearcat Invitational," said Furman head coach Matt Davidson, the reigning SoCon Coach of the Year, who is in his eighth year leading the Paladin program.  "It is a great field again, and Coldstream Country Club proved to be a fair and very challenging test last year.  The course gives you some room off the tee, but the green complexes and firmness of the greens made precise approach play a key factor.  It is overall a fantastic course and we can't wait to return, especially with some momentum off a huge final round move at the Gopher last week."

The Paladin lineup for the tournament includes senior Harris Barth, senior Zach Frazer, senior Clark Akers, freshman Cameron Reed, and redshirt sophomore Walter Anderson.

Furman will be joined in the 18-team field by host Cincinnati, Arkansas, Augusta, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Little Rock, Louisville, Maryland, Memphis, UNCG, Nebraska, Ohio State, Sam Houston, South Florida, and TCU.

The 54-hole tournament begins at 9 a.m. each day.  The Paladins will tee off of No. 12 through No. 15 on Monday and will play 36 holes with Memphis, Augusta, and Maryland.  Admission to the tournament is free and fans are welcome.  Live tournament scoring will be available via Scoreboard by clippd.

Furman opened the 2024-25 season at the Gopher Invitational, where Akers and Frazer each shot 4-over to tie for 20th.  The Paladins surged into eighth place after recording a final-round 284.

Last season, Furman received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, where Barth tied for ninth to pace the Paladins.  Will Morlan, Akers, and Barth were named to the All-SoCon team, while Ludvig Josefsson claimed a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman team.
